General Comments:
This is an excellent coastal cruiser with a walk through door on the stern. Buy or Lease this vessel today!

M.V. Gwaii Haanas was built in 1975 for the Ministry of Forests. She was built in sections to a Ed Monk design in Sechelt, and then shipped to Revelstoke for assembly. The vessels name at that time was the M.V. KINBASKET FOREST, named for the Kinbasket Lake near Revelstoke. For the next 18 years, the Kinbasket Forest was a crew boat that enabled forestry crews to work along the shoreline of the new lake created by the Revelstoke dam.
She was decommissioned from government service in 1993 and sold to a Vancouver owner. He cruised her extensively, including a 6 month trip to Alaska. The Kinbasket Forest was then sold again, being purchased by the Provincial Parks department for use in the Queen Charlotte Islands; (Haida Gwaii). The Haida watchmen renamed the vessel the Gwaii Haanas, meaning "Place of wonder" in aboriginal Haida language, and operated her as a crewing and supply vessel for their many outstations in the park. The Gwaii Haanas was again decommissioned from government service in the spring of 2000 and was then sold that summer.

Accommodation:  
Vessel has a Double Berth forward and in the Main cabin. There is a Head with Shower and a Holding Tank.

Galley:
Vessel has a large 3 Burner stove with oven, Fridge, BBQ, Microwave, Double Sink and 6'3'' of Headroom.

Mechanical:
Vessel has a 1995 Cummins 6CTA83-MI Diesel engine with 250 hp, FWC/Internal Keel, Reduction Gear, 36x22 propeller and Hydraulic Steering.

Performance: 

Deck:
Vessel has a 60 lb Danforth and a 40 lb Fisherman anchor with 50 meters of chain and 50 meters of line. There is a windlass, 12 ft Aluminum skiff with a 9.9 hp outboard, a Boom with Hydraulic Winch, Wing Poles with Stabilizers, Fenders, Bilge Pumps, Fire and Safety Equipment, Electrolysis Protection and Engine Alarms.

Electrical:
Vessel is 12/110 with an Onan 7.5 Kw/120 volt AC Generator, 2-8 D-cell and 4 Golf Cart Batteries and a Constavolt Heart 2000 Charger/Inverter.

Electronics and Navigation:
Vessel has a Compass, Autopilot, VHF, GPS w/laptop interface and Navtrac software, Sounder, Hailer, Horn and 24 mile Radar.
